Interprofessional Education (IPE) for Health Professions Educators

The IPE Lab is a resource hub on CUNY Academic Commons dedicated to the design, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of interprofessional education (IPE) e-learning resources for health professions educators and learners.

Emerging from the Interprofessional Training and Education at Cornell-Hunter (ITEACH) project, the IPE Lab offers free, open access to e-learning modules developed in the final year of the project.

ITEACH e-Learning Modules: The Maria Garcia Series

While the ITEACH project has ended, we continue to update and maintain e-learning modules on core competencies in IPE, which remain freely available for educators to use in their courses, workshops, and programs. As of January 2020, content from The Maria Garcia Series has been used at over 95 colleges and health professions training programs across the US and in several countries, and our web-hosted modules have logged nearly 7,000 unique visitors and awarded over 6,700 learner certificates upon completion.

No CUNY Commons registration is needed—-at the end of each module, there is a page where you can print (or take a screenshot of) your certificate of completion, as well as a copy of your responses to open-ended questions. Please use a desktop or laptop device for this, as each item is presented as a pop-up window. If your browser blocks pop-ups, look for a button to show the blocked page (or allow pop-ups for hunter.cuny.edu). Alternatively, click the lock icon next to the URL in your browser’s address bar and check to make sure the site’s pop-up permissions are set to ‘Allow’.
We recommend taking a screenshot of the ‘Summary of Responses’ page instead, located a few slides before the end.  Save that and your certificate.  Thank you!
