About us

The IPE Lab on CUNY Academic Commons and ITEACH project were founded on the premise that health professions education programs must revitalize their curricula to meet the changing needs of 21st century health care practice. We recognize that in today’s health care system, no single provider can solely meet the complex needs of patients, creating a need for health professions education programs to prepare students to work in dynamic health care environments as part of a collaborative team.

Our goal is to instill in a broad range of health and health care professional students the concepts and competencies of interprofessional collaboration and team-based practice through the sharing and dissemination of IPE resources.  We aim to create and foster interdisciplinary partnerships among faculty, clinical instructors, health care providers, students, and members of the community to design and integrate sustainable IPE in the curriculum.
